Wandering Wikis

A Moribund Institute wiki-walking initiative

Wandering Wikis

Wandering Wikis is a collaborative encyclopedia and video commentary project dedicated to walking through Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikiversity, and other wiki-based knowledge systems as living territory rather than static reference pages.

What is Wandering Wikis?

Wandering Wikis treats wiki entries as landscapes: places to explore, annotate, perform, explain, misread productively, and connect to other ideas.

A Wandering Wikis post might be a casual walkthrough of a Wikipedia article, a lexicographical riff on a Wiktionary entry, a video commentary session, a CRT-style screen recording, a VTuber exploration, or a long rabbit-hole through linked knowledge.

In short: wiki entries, but alive.

Core paths

Wiki Walking

Casual guided walks through articles, entries, categories, citations, and links.

Lexicographical Riffs

Word-focused explorations using Wiktionary, etymology, pronunciation, usage notes, and MorDictionary-style digressions.

Video Commentary

Hangout-style commentary, screen recordings, avatar experiments, and wiki-entry performances.

Rabbit Holes

Follow one link to another until a theme, pattern, or strange corridor of knowledge appears.

Commonplace Notes

Save fragments, observations, definitions, and references for future Moribund Institute projects.

Learning Interruptions

Language-learning inserts, vocabulary cards, pronunciation snippets, and playful educational interruptions.

Start here

  1. Pick a wiki page, word, topic, person, place, object, date, or concept.
  2. Read it as a path, not a destination. Follow links, citations, categories, and related entries.
  3. Make something from the walk: a blog post, video, note, audio fragment, vocabulary lesson, or commentary thread.
  4. Label it so it joins the Wandering Wikis archive.

Make a Wandering Wikis post

When publishing on the Moribund Institute Blogger, use Wandering Wikis as the main label. Add more labels depending on the format, such as Wiki Walking, Video Commentary, Wikipedia, Wiktionary, or Lexicography.

This keeps the automatic Blogger label archive working while this page remains the polished project hub.
